201 Speedway Roars Back to Action on August 1st!

Sitka, Kentucky (July 22, 2015) It's been a long rough summer for racing with Mother Nature showing a winning hand more often than our KY tracks, but you can't keep a good thing down forever. Sadly, bad weather swept through Johnson County and has created much devastation around 201 Speedway. With a racing surface already damaged from the previous rains, our track was not spared and with a lot of work to do around the grounds to bring the clay and hillside back to our standards. Unfortunately the gates will remain closed this Saturday, July 25th.

We are proud to announce that we are forging ahead to honor one of the greatest impacts in our sport with renaming our August 1st race in Honor of Bob Miller. This title was previously given our Lucas Oil race that was cancelled by Mother Nature. Bob Miller was a man that touched not just so many within our dirt track community but Eastern Kentucky Business as a whole, so 201 Speedway would be honored to still give us all a night to pay our respects.

We are excited to bring a wonderful night of racing back to 201 Nation and pack the hillside for a man so very deserving and who loved our sport so dearly. Gates will open at 3pm with hillside admission being $20 and the pits will be $35, kids 10 years of age or younger will be free. Driver’s meeting will begin at 6:00pm with racing beginning shortly after.

201 Speedway is located at 5434 Route 201 in Sitka, just minutes from Paintsville, Kentucky. For additional information concerning 201 Speedway, contact the track office on race day at (606) 265-5201 or visit the track’s official website located at www.201Speedway.net.
